Q. My dog can be aggressive and may bite. Will you groom him/her?
A. It depends on how aggressive your dog is and whether or not he/she will accept a muzzle. Every dog is different and we will do our best to get the job done but we will not put ourselves or your pet at risk.
Q. Will you groom my dog if he/she is sedated?
A. No. If your dog requires sedation, we firmly believe your dog should be groomed by your veterinarian.
Q. Does my dog need to be current on his/her vaccinations to be groomed?
A. No it is not required but highly recommended as they are in an environment where other dogs are present.
Q. How long does a groom take?
A. This depends on what is being done but generally, a typical groom (not a bath only) will take approximately 3 hours depending on your dog’s coat length/condition, behaviour and size. It is always better to take a little longer than to rush through a groom!
Q. How soon can I have my puppy groomed?
A. We suggest you wait until all vaccinations have been given which is about 4 months old. Until then, daily brushing or combing your puppy at home, as well as handling their feet, ears and face is recommended to get them accustomed to the grooming process.
Q. Do you groom severely matted dogs?
A. Yes, however, aside from being quite expensive, extensive de-matting can be extremely painful. We feel the best solution is to clip the coat completely and start again with regular brushing at home between grooms.
Q. Do I need an appointment?
A. Yes, please call ahead especially for upcoming holidays.
Q. What if I have to cancel my appointment?
A. It is best to give us as much notice as possible that way your spot can be filled to avoid a cancellation fee.
Q. Can I bring some treats with my dog?
A. Absolutely – it is encouraged so we can reward your dog for their good behaviour!
Q. Can I stay for the groom?
A. Sorry no. Dogs are easily distracted especially when their owners are present and grooming your dog requires their full attention.
Q. Do you groom cats?
A. No only dogs.
Q. What form of payment do you accept?
A. Cash or debit – thank you!
